Cleveland Cavalier fans are hypocritical

Where were all the Cleveland fans before Lebron?

In 2003 the Cleveland Cavaliers averaged 11'000 fans per game.  I realize people don't want to watch a bad team, but at the same time no superstar wants to be surrounded by a bad team.  Especially after 7 seasons with Cleveland including already re-signing once after Cleveland promised to surround him with a good team.

After Cleveland got Lebron, they averaged 21'000 fans per game in 2004.  The fact is the fans were conditionally loyal (which is exactly what Lebron is;  i.e. Lebron said he would do a 3rd deal with Cleveland if they surrounded him with the right guys).

So, it's ok for a fan base to be conditionally loyal, but not a player?  (a 25 year old kid).  And how can the owner Dan Gilbert be castrating Lebron for lack of loyalty when he himself tried to hire away Tom Izzo.  That's hypocritical.  If you are for loyalty then you would never try to recruit Tom Izzo away from Michigan State.

Cleveland has a very short memory.  They react to what they last saw (just like our general sports society).  It's funny how that works.  We demand loyalty but we're conditionally loyal ourselves...
